That's Torn It

Image
Track last night.  After deliberating with Stevie B about what to do (road or track) we agreed on track after some goading from DC ! Turned up a bit earlier than planned, bit of banter then a couple of laps jog warm-up with Kye.  Really couldn't be arsed as the tiredness was still there. Decided on doing a proper track session as Stevie B was a blow out.  2 x 4 x 200m.  200m walk recovery then 400m walk set rest.  A real lactic burn up that will get speed in my legs and start strengthening them.  Really it is a short cut to get fit fast as I know I will have to take some chances. Boys set off to do 3 x 1k which they knock out in about 3.02's - very nice! I start the 200's, feel pretty good and strong.  First set starts feeling tough towards the end but work hard.  2nd set is more into the wind but really work hard.  Get to the 8th and Ian, Dan and a couple of boys join me.  Set off and 40m in bang, the calf is gone.  Jump ...

Warm Out Innit !

Got another 4 in last night, actually felt pretty good.  First double for some time and longest day running for over a month. Set alarm for 6.45 this morning, went to bed early and was all set to run.  Woke up about 7.45 feeling really tired.  Kids off to school with Ange and grabbed another half hour.  Feel really low today, almost depressed.  Sure it's just the tiredness, maybe something still in system as I haven't felt right since before London.  Maybe overcooking things Friday night done some damage? Will do a session with Stevie B tonight at St Ives - 2 x 3k.  Around 11 mins of efforts at about 6/mm to get the legs going.  It's going to be tough but hoping that blowing the cobwebs away will lift things a little. Weight down to 10.10 this morning which is spot on.  10.09 tomorrow will be nice, every lb helps. Gym day tomorrow is the plan, will do some kind of circuit as I'm planning a day off work.  Maybe do a bike and sprin...

Comeback Mark II (or III or IV oh you get the idea!)

So, long story short, I came back home from Florida way out of shape with all the best intentions in the world.  Struggled running Tuesday to Friday, got around 24 miles in those 4 days. Friday night tried to kill myself with alcohol and weekend carded two zeros days as it was all I could do to open my eyelids :) So comeback number 347 or whatever starts here.  Run 4 miles, nature park at work. Felt OK, wasn't as slow as I worried and body didn't ache as much as it has been.  Back is an issue, severely tight but hoping regular resistance band will help. Need to get up early in the mornings to train.  Far too lazy and it's affecting me.  Will not race until I run morning runs starting with a 6.  Will set alarm and be running at a time in the morning starting with a 6!  Wednesday is gym / swim day. Rough guide is 4 miles am, 4 miles pm for now with no long runs just get my body used to running regularly. That's stage one of the comeback....

Harry Redknapp Sacked !!

My mum went to school with Harry - true story ! Morning by the pool with the boys then off  to lunch at Fultons in Downtown Disney. Ange took the boys to see Madegasgar and I took the little lady on the hot air baloon ride. Great fun and got some colour. The storms from the first ek adistant memory !  First ever 3 week holiday and starting to feel ready to come home. its been great and we havent felt need to rush to do anything. have had g time playing with the kids but it will be back to normal business next tuesday. Got back and tried coach DCs prescribed fartlek. Outcome was 3.58 miles in 27.14 for 149 bpm with no stops. First mile hard in 6.30 then jogged the rest in about 7.40 pace. Bang into storage wars and trade kings on the telly. have read first 2 books of hunger games and looking forward to getting the third. looking forward  to seeing the film!

Wow, sun finally came out today and it was a scorcher. Poor Jake was ill past 2 days so its been chill out time by the pool. Absolutely love this place, a real home from home. Easy 15 min jog, sore achillies so binned it off but it eased in.  Back to 6am wake up which is cool as I get an hour to myself! Got a proper tan at last and also decided on training plans for coming months. Watching a storm now on the balcony, absolutely balmy. lightening forks evrywhere Mr Day no garmin outlet but lunar glides about 60 dollars
