Planning and Niggles

Last 3 weeks now I have managed a nice bit of consistency in my training. The main thing has been nailling two sessions per week - some 400s (ish) oin Tuesdays and 5k tempo on Saturday. I've mixed and matched the sessions with track, road and treadmill BUT in an ideal world I'll keep as much to track as possible. Treadmill wise I have narrowed down the difference between track and the mill for the 5k session. My last 3 weeks I have had -  5k treadmill - 5.06/mm - 155 bpm - 323w  5k track - 5:38/mm - 170 bpm - 345w 5k treadmill - 5:33/mm - 160 bpm - 337w  The last session v first one was Zwift v Garmin. On the last one my time was 15.23 v 15.48 BUT I kept going until the Garmin hit 5k so the 5.33 pace was pretty accurate based on power whereas the first one was far too easy (155 bpm !!) My 400m reps (ish) the target is to hit 5k pace, 3k pace and 1500m pace switching weeks. Again, treadmill pace is far too slow so I will hit these at around 21 kmph when I repeat on treadmi...

Falling to Pieces

Long time no blog (why does every blog post ever written by anyone always start with this!!!) I guess the story version of this blog is eat, sleep, train, family holiday, work, tired, can't recover, long run, swim loads, don't swim at all, moan, eat, drink, sleep more, moan more, some training, not enough training aaaaaand repeat! Yup, I'm sure anyone that knows me will know the roller coaster that is my sporting career is back on the bottom! However, before DC has to get me on suicide watch I'm keeping positive as there are still good things happening and we are not finished just yet!!

V50 Comeback - Week 4 - The sudden stop

2 Weeks of eating pretty clean. Minimal snacks, minimal booze, low calory, steps in etc. etc. Net result - pretty much same fucking weight this morning haha - 70.1kg Straight fact is that diet will help but miles make the diet. I need to go from 35 to 50-60 no getting around it. I much prefer doing 5 run days per week but I think I need to add in some super easy running to get the fat burning, simple as that. Still a few aches and pains. Right achilies and foot I am very confident is cleared up now. Left foot I am pretty confident won't be an issue. The only thing I am hessitant about is my left glute / piriformis so paying extra close attention to that. Plan this week. Just roll the easy miles easy, lift it slightly and based on everything happening I will keep the 2 sessions fully under control. I have 3 paces I work to. So 1500 pace for example - pace is 74 per 400. Target pace is 72 and stretch pace is 69. This week I will favor staying closer to pace which is what I would run ...
