V50 Comeback - Week 4 - The sudden stop
2 Weeks of eating pretty clean. Minimal snacks, minimal booze, low calory, steps in etc. etc.
Net result - pretty much same fucking weight this morning haha - 70.1kg
Straight fact is that diet will help but miles make the diet. I need to go from 35 to 50-60 no getting around it.
I much prefer doing 5 run days per week but I think I need to add in some super easy running to get the fat burning, simple as that.
Still a few aches and pains. Right achilies and foot I am very confident is cleared up now. Left foot I am pretty confident won't be an issue. The only thing I am hessitant about is my left glute / piriformis so paying extra close attention to that.
Plan this week. Just roll the easy miles easy, lift it slightly and based on everything happening I will keep the 2 sessions fully under control.
I have 3 paces I work to. So 1500 pace for example - pace is 74 per 400. Target pace is 72 and stretch pace is 69. This week I will favor staying closer to pace which is what I would run at the minute. I'll keep a lid on things as I am building volume this week so trying to get more in.
I also need to stay active on the upper weights and also the steps as I have been letting these go.
Monday 4th August
Easy and slow lake loop. All good, few aches and pains which is to be expected. It's very frustrating but I am coming around to just getting my head into conditioning mode. I want to feel easy enough to get out of bed and run but at the minute I am struggling first thing.
Tuesday
Achy this morning but the achillies and left foot were improved. Just general morning aches and stretched out easy enough.
70.1kg weight in. Ahh, hence the above 'just get miles in'.
New Superblast turning up today, hopefully after 800+ miles of the last ones I feel some benefit to new foam. Stopping looking at other options, these have helped me massively this year so just stick to the formula. Also consiering sticking with Tak Sen 10 for track sessions and getting new ones next week. They have been a winner thus far. It's the spikes that have hurt me!
So, warm up at track. Left foot aches. Start session. Immediately no. Foot cannot push off. Manage cool down. Looking like foot can go easy but not hard.
From here - it's yet another setback. Thursday today, binned off run yesterday and ate like shit. It doesn't feel massively injured. My piriformis is very tight and getting that massaged today.
I honestly just don't know. I am at the stage where I feel like I am flogging a dead horse.
I can't see me getting back and on to sessions anytime soon. I feel like if I can sort the piriformis out I can probably just plod slow and easy. Possibly the best bet for me is a sustained period of plodding out base miles and just forget anything with pace for a bit. I keep trying, getting slightly faster and then crashing back.
The left foot and piriformis issue is a joke. I had absolutely zero issues with left leg for about a year and now my right leg seems to be recovering it's instantly fucked.
Need to settle back and reasses things
