That's Torn It

Image
Track last night.  After deliberating with Stevie B about what to do (road or track) we agreed on track after some goading from DC ! Turned up a bit earlier than planned, bit of banter then a couple of laps jog warm-up with Kye.  Really couldn't be arsed as the tiredness was still there. Decided on doing a proper track session as Stevie B was a blow out.  2 x 4 x 200m.  200m walk recovery then 400m walk set rest.  A real lactic burn up that will get speed in my legs and start strengthening them.  Really it is a short cut to get fit fast as I know I will have to take some chances. Boys set off to do 3 x 1k which they knock out in about 3.02's - very nice! I start the 200's, feel pretty good and strong.  First set starts feeling tough towards the end but work hard.  2nd set is more into the wind but really work hard.  Get to the 8th and Ian, Dan and a couple of boys join me.  Set off and 40m in bang, the calf is gone.  Jump up and try not to load it but the damage i

Warm Out Innit !

Got another 4 in last night, actually felt pretty good.  First double for some time and longest day running for over a month. Set alarm for 6.45 this morning, went to bed early and was all set to run.  Woke up about 7.45 feeling really tired.  Kids off to school with Ange and grabbed another half hour.  Feel really low today, almost depressed.  Sure it's just the tiredness, maybe something still in system as I haven't felt right since before London.  Maybe overcooking things Friday night done some damage? Will do a session with Stevie B tonight at St Ives - 2 x 3k.  Around 11 mins of efforts at about 6/mm to get the legs going.  It's going to be tough but hoping that blowing the cobwebs away will lift things a little. Weight down to 10.10 this morning which is spot on.  10.09 tomorrow will be nice, every lb helps. Gym day tomorrow is the plan, will do some kind of circuit as I'm planning a day off work.  Maybe do a bike and sprints if the weather is nice.  First

Comeback Mark II (or III or IV oh you get the idea!)

So, long story short, I came back home from Florida way out of shape with all the best intentions in the world.  Struggled running Tuesday to Friday, got around 24 miles in those 4 days. Friday night tried to kill myself with alcohol and weekend carded two zeros days as it was all I could do to open my eyelids :) So comeback number 347 or whatever starts here.  Run 4 miles, nature park at work. Felt OK, wasn't as slow as I worried and body didn't ache as much as it has been.  Back is an issue, severely tight but hoping regular resistance band will help. Need to get up early in the mornings to train.  Far too lazy and it's affecting me.  Will not race until I run morning runs starting with a 6.  Will set alarm and be running at a time in the morning starting with a 6!  Wednesday is gym / swim day. Rough guide is 4 miles am, 4 miles pm for now with no long runs just get my body used to running regularly. That's stage one of the comeback.  Get myself ready t

Harry Redknapp Sacked !!

My mum went to school with Harry - true story ! Morning by the pool with the boys then off  to lunch at Fultons in Downtown Disney. Ange took the boys to see Madegasgar and I took the little lady on the hot air baloon ride. Great fun and got some colour. The storms from the first ek adistant memory !  First ever 3 week holiday and starting to feel ready to come home. its been great and we havent felt need to rush to do anything. have had g time playing with the kids but it will be back to normal business next tuesday. Got back and tried coach DCs prescribed fartlek. Outcome was 3.58 miles in 27.14 for 149 bpm with no stops. First mile hard in 6.30 then jogged the rest in about 7.40 pace. Bang into storage wars and trade kings on the telly. have read first 2 books of hunger games and looking forward to getting the third. looking forward  to seeing the film!

Wow, sun finally came out today and it was a scorcher. Poor Jake was ill past 2 days so its been chill out time by the pool. Absolutely love this place, a real home from home. Easy 15 min jog, sore achillies so binned it off but it eased in.  Back to 6am wake up which is cool as I get an hour to myself! Got a proper tan at last and also decided on training plans for coming months. Watching a storm now on the balcony, absolutely balmy. lightening forks evrywhere Mr Day no garmin outlet but lunar glides about 60 dollars

June 8th

Obviously yesterday's post was June 7th!! Still not sure what day it is out here!! Today has been cloudy. Managed a shirt 3 mile run with 2 very slow miles followed by one quick one. Sub 6 for sure but not sure how much by. Feel fat and slow out here! Had breakfast at Dennys - double cheeseburger dripping in fat. Dinner at Buffalo wings - 12 hottest wings in Orlando apparently. They were properly hot and 2 large cokes and a beer were needed to was them down! Toilet will be ruined tomorrow! Done a lot of driving today, probably going to take it easy for a couple of days while the sun comes back and this rain stops. Back to the parks next week then back next Sunday. Holiday wise it's going too fast out here. Run wise cannot get back fast enough to get back into a routine for Autumn half. First pbro grand prix just been and gone, Kye and DC leading it out with decent times. Peter G ominously close behind though. I will have to go quick this summer, about time to start progre

June 6th

30 mins easy gain today. Definately feeling easier. New trainers helped, legs do not feel so smashed afterwards. Maybe a return to health is on the cards?? Chilling in the villa, Sun starting to come through so may even hit the pool in a bit. Have a monster slab of steak to bbq for lunch #happydays Few work emails floating about, same old - not much happening without me by the looks of things! Shopping good out here, if anyone wants anything bought back just leave a comment on this blog post and ill pick it up. A and F, Nike, Tommy Hillfiger  and Ed Hardy are lcheap. Ralphy is a bit salty to be honest. Forever by Chris Brown is playing here non stop. top old tune,  You Tube it !!!

Spalling

Typing blog on my BB is a right pain, spelling is all over the place and screen cuts off before the end of the post! Woke up 7am to storms - real build an ark stuff. Going for a run in 5. Off to Hollywood Studio for character dinner and fireworks later. Cloudy day and will rain again later. Will chill rest of the morning. Seen some decent results but not as many as have expected, not much racing going on. Parkrun for Kye and DC but nothing else much. Was cool watching Mo  run 12.56 live by the pool and doubt Bislett games will be on tomoz. Addicted to storage wars, its a big show out here ... YUUUP !! Legs sore today, road is hard, no trails.

Ketchup

Training - Sunday, 3 miles about 7.30 pace. feel awful. Monday, Rest Tuesday, 40 mins easy. Feel best I have out here Wednesday, 30 mins easy. Colder day after storms felt much easier. Just doing something out here to keep the weight off! Weather out here is crazy. today was storms with some of the worst rain I have eve seen. Yesterday was lounging by the pool all day. June 1st

3.02 miles 21.36 149 bpm. Easiest way to describe this is running with wights. 3 miles felt like 8. legs feel heavy and heart rate is through roof. Maybe have a virus? Does not feel right. Was doing 630s for 150 bpm a couple of weeks ago.  In a slump just gotta grind it out until something happens.  Worry is how long runs feel right now. At home could run 8 miles easy while feeling like this. Out here 3 miles feels  long way. Rest day tomorrow, see how I feel Sunday

Suns Out

Sun is finally here in Florida. Yesterday yeow it was so hot, I felt like Ray Winston at the start of Sexy Beast ! Going to run this afternoon today and see if it feels any easier. Last few days have felt like hard work and maybe its just morning legs. Been following the action on twitter from the lads back home, looks like everyone is smashing it so need to be good to go when I get back if I want to keep up.
