Slowly Slowly Catchy Monkey

Things are bubbling along nicely now. I've hit a few bumps along the way but finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

I know realistically I don't got too many comebacks left in me. This one really has to be something else and to get that I need to run freely and smoothly.

One kick in the nads is not doing enough strength work. I really need to up my game and even get 15-20 mins in a day.  Monday I did zero mobility before my run and it was shocking. If I don't do mobility, I'll cause niggles. If I don't do strength, I'll need to do more mobility.

Bit of a break through today, first morning that I have woken up and didn't feel horrific. In fact, I'd say I wasn't a million miles of being ready to run (ok, maybe a slow shuffle but a big improvement !!)

As usual, not possible to pin point the exact reason BUT I did change a few things yesterday. In order of most likely to contribute to feeling easier ...

* Protein shake before bed. Ange told me off for not getting enough protein in so had a big one as a night time snack.

* Changed pillow to a formed memory foam one (from a different formed memory foam one!). Not used this one yet so I will percevere.

* Work out routine - lower back and glutes. Not loads just 2 sets of each.

* Back stretcher set to number 3 (usually 2). on the rack, far too curved but maybe it loosened hip flexors off.

Can't really say what it was but either way I feel most decent today that I have done for a LONG time (I felt horrific yesterday). Off to run steady with DC again later this afternoon so see how it filters through.

I'm slowly starting to feel better each week. Just a small gain on Heart Rate and pace. It's not 'there' yet but it's closer than it was! Of just light tempo I'm impressed with how my body is responding so far. Slow runs feel very slow so always a good sign. I'm still waiting to feel 100% before I turn to intervals. I am mad keen to kick some pace work in but have to be patient.

Have ordered the new Zoom X Invincible, these look the real deal in terms of relaxed cushioning, so who knows I may even be able to start getting longer and double days in without smashing my body. Should arrive in next couple of days so that'll be a review piece! This could be the game changer in getting the miles in.
