Threshold Proggy

The first comparison, week on week. The steady - threshold progression (hopefully becoming easy to steady by the end of this re-build block!)

Just go now I'll do the quick and dirty analysis.

Last week...

1.00  6:59  265w  142 bpm

1.00  6:43  282w  158 bpm

1.00  6:29  286w  160 bpm

1.00  6:13  299w  167 bpm

1.00  5:57  309w  170 bpm

This week...

1.00  6:58  267w  140 bpm

1.00  6:43  283w  152 bpm

1.00  6:29  297w  157 bpm

1.00  6:10  308w  163 bpm

1.00  5:50  319w  168 bpm

Clearly this week the HR was considerably better. Interestingly power was way up in the last 3 miles, last week was a faster day but today my HR was under much better control.  Progress !!!

Pace wise this still felt hard, far too hard BUT I am hoping that over the weeks it becomes easier to maintain decent power - 290-300w again without killing myself.

My lower back, hamstrings and glutes have been tight this week. I think really targeting the lower back is going to pay off massively. I already feel a bit better in the mornings and once the DOMS and soreness have gone I think I'l be in a better position to build going forwards.  I've said that February is the month of building so I expect to ache and be tired a lot. Hopefully by March I'll be ready to capitalise by being in similar shape to November / early December but with the added bonus of some injury resilience!
