Racing Plans

January is fast approaching. Hip issue ruined my December racing plans but things are still on the up in terms of training. Going alright and on shedule to start marathon mileage!

Looks busy, I hope to race myself into shape and use training races at harder tempo sessions with plenty of miles either side!

Better get entering!

January looks busy race wise. Will aim to get some decent finish positions in there rather than times.

Jan 2 - Mid lancs Half
Jan 8 - County XC
Jan 15 - Frostbite league

February will be a hard month as miles should rise a bit.

Feb 5 - Frostbite
Feb 19 - Sleaford half training run

March - hopefully be fit at last !

Mar 4 - Frostbite
Mar 11 - Silverstone half
Mar 18 - Ashby 20 training run
Mar 25 - Victoria Park 5

Training wise, still can't get my head around a plan. I will try and get a steady longer run in, a couple of runs at LT and mix up intervals and racing.

January so far in my head looks like this ...

Rest days will happen as life gets in the way. No commitments, no rest !!

Mon - recovery 6 & 5
Tue - 6 recovery & 5 (3 T)
Wed - 12 Low Endurance
Thur - 8 Low endurance
Fri - 12 (8 LT, 4 T)
Sat - 5 recovery
Sun - long 17 (8 LT)

76 miles

7miles T (10%) 6/mm 167 bpm
16miles LT (21%) 6:30/mm 157 bpm
24miles recovery (31%) 7:45/mm 140 bpm
29miles Endurance (38%) 7:00/mm 150 bpm

Looks good, 3 easy days so scope to move things around and rest when Im going footy without sacrificing a session or miles. Will aim to hit this for most of Jan. Priority is Sunday, Friday, Tuesday and the aim to to get LT to marathon pace and T to sub 6/mm.

Tuesday may mix up group sessions but aim now is to just get this done.

Race weeks will look like this -

Mon - recovery 6 & 5
Tue - 6 recovery & 5 (3 T)
Wed - 12 (8 LT, 4 T)
Thur - 6 Low endurance
Fri - long 17 (8 LT)
Sat - REST
Sun - Race & 5 recovery

But for now, just hope the body holds up!
