Training Camp
AKA #fatcamp
Arrive Thursday. Get a bit pissed. Run Friday morning. 5 full on XC miles @ 8.30 pace. Hip fairly OK. Get a bit pissed and eat a LOT of shit shiny food. Saturday, Parkrun. Mistakenly thought it was a plod and after dropping back to find Rich see T dog has gunned it. Proper XC course. 3rd in 20.09 (ish) No barcode #phew. Hip bit grumbly. Fry up. Get really pissed. Hungover plod on Sunday - same as Friday - 5 XC miles of which at least 2 are knee deep in flood water. Hip ruined, agony for last couple of miles. Go home.
14 miles in 3 days. Hip not right but a proper laugh. Next time better planning as everyone was pretty low on motivation and all fairly broken before starting!
Hip bit better today. Have focussed on lower back release - I'm fairly certain that the mega tight back is causing all my hip issues. Zero leg muscle issues, probably first time in 6 years they've been ok. Back less tight but that's still not anywhere near released. Osteo tomorrow and physio Friday.
Targets are dialled back now. If I am running pain free by end of December I will be happy to crack on. Until them I'll try to hobble 3-4 days per week if I can. At home on the roads 7/mm is comfortable so should just about hold the fag ends of form if I can do that. Diet really needs to be addressed tho. Put on maybe 4-5 lbs since stopped proper running 2 1/2 weeks ago.
