Bang

Running often feel like two steps forward and one step back. After Friday, Saturday & Sundays really good paced runs Monday & Tuesday have been a real struggle.

Got the miles in by doing two easy double days. Monday was 6.2 @ 8:28/mm and 4.8 @ 7:50/mm. The second run felt awful in the wind because my Garmin was showing 8:30 pace for most of the run and came up well short on the distance compared to usual. Good reason to bin the Garmin occasionally as it dictates how you feel.

Today did an easy 8.4 with Andy at work on a new route at a decent clip for him - 8:21/mm. Legs felt really bad on this run. Felt tired and struggled and calves really ached. After stretching and rolling them hard the other night they don't seem to have been right since #morehardthangood !!

Decided to have tomorrow as my rest day and move the long run to Thursday as I stil want to run long the day after a rest. So got out tonight for a plod in full tracksuit. 3.5 mile route than I have been doing for years to top up the miles. Actually felt good on the run and loosened the legs of nicely. So 12 miles for the day, thats pretty decent.

So rest up tomorrow and go long Thursday - hopefully at a decent pace. Not under pressure, just aiming at 7:30's so anything like last week would be great.

Hunts boys were training on track with the C&C boys tonight - will be interesting to see how they made out. Guteed not to be running and joining in the banter but got to stick to the plan !
