Long run today, Fridays (unlike Thursdays) are daddys day!
Get up, kids fed, cleaned and watered and into nursery. Then the day is mine until 3.30pm (Jacob has 2 pals over for a play day tonight so it will be fun and games)!
Got back from dropping the two little ones at nursery and breakfast and chill out before getting out for my run.
Run was planned as 16 and stuck to it today which is surprising early days into training. The plan was to stick around 7:30 pace and see what happens.

Got back from the run, logged it on Fetch (an OCD for me) and had a nice warm bath.
Really nice run today. First 5 miles were very easy and it looked like the run would wind up below 7/mm as it felt so good. Miles 6,7 & 9-11 were on the trails and pretty tough to get pace any quicker. 12-14 were on the road but into a stiff constant headwind and made it really tough. 15th mile was at same effort as rest of the run so shows it would have been a quick one if it wasn't so breezy.
Legs a bit tired because the wind and trails just took so much out of them. they are still not strong enough so need to start looking at getting on the hilly trail once a week at work for some effort. Apart from that I was really happy with this long one - best one so far. Feels like it is happening, just got to keep the work up. Won't run as planned tonight, aim now is just to run steady over the weekend and let the legs start to feel good again.
Will probably take a stroll to the shops for a sandwich now and chill before the kids turn up and then at 5.15 I will head off to the nursery to pick the little ones up before it's festering friday (no bath just a popcorn and film party for the boys) and settle down with a bottle of red for the night :) Festering friday is for the kids not me !!
