Slowly slowly...

...catchy monkey.

It feels like it's getting close now.  Weights down, sessions are getting better, pace is coming.

Still keeping everything crossed that the aches and strains don't become serious.

3 x 800m at the track last night.  Off 200m + slow walk recovery.  2.34, 2.35, 2.33.  Pleased with that, same session in 2011 was about 5 secs per rep faster, with some decent runs to back it up I was in 17.11 5k shape a couple of weeks later.  It's all to play for still!

First rep I was pretty toast, started too hard but held on.  2nd rep actually felt better but last 100m was pretty messy. Last rep dug in and finished up pretty ok and surprised to be the fastest one.

It's a short session but it does give 3 close to race efforts so training effect is better right now than just ploughing out 6 or 8 slow reps off short recovery.

Best track session since coming back, think I did 4 x 1000m in 3.30 avge a while back and this is much better.

Legs felt pretty good afterwards so we will see how a steady hour goes later.  The miles are consistent now, 4 1/2 weeks of consistent running in the bank and touch wood I can get another 2 or 3 in and we should see some much better times.

I'll probably try and do 3 x 1000m next week before coming back to the 800s the week after.

On 34 miles for the week to Tuesday so confident I can get 50-55 in for the week which would be nice.

Head down, plough on
